Why prep?

Even a small amount of preparation can improve your experience.

  • If you are able, take care of yourself in the days leading up to your appointment.

    • Get plenty of sleep, water, and protein.

    • Exfoliate the area and lotion to prep your skin.

    • Reschedule if under the weather, tattoos are a huge strain on your immune system and you will get considerably sicker, not to mention artists do not get paid sick leave and we know better than to expose others to our germs now.

Aftercare packages containing a small bottle of Dr. Bronners unscented liquid baby soap and unscented Curel lotion are available at the shop for a small extra fee.

PLEASE NOTE: Not just any soap will work, many of them contain harsh synthetic fragrances or chemicals and you cannot keep a bar soap sterile so you must get a liquid soap in a bottle.

For moisturizer, heavy ointments are not recommended. They keep the skin sealed off from oxygen and attract dirt and hair. If you insist on using one make sure it is the thinnest possible layer and use it towards the flaky stage of the tattoo, not right away. A light unscented lotion gives hydration while allowing the skin to still get oxygen, and is dry to the touch.

AFTERCARE PACKAGES HAVE BEEN CULTIVATED USING YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE AND TESTING, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR TATTOOER OF ANY KNOWN ALLERGENS.
