About Mortal Emblem

After 16 years tattooing professionally and being a multidisciplinary artist based out of Portland, Oregon, A wonderful opportunity presented itself to Olivia Britz-Wheat to be a part of a new community at the budding Lloyd Center Arts District. While there were rumors of Lloyd Center’s demolition, there is a new future of a small indie business mall. Those of us who have always loved the space are ecstatic to help reinvigorate it.

Mortal Emblem offers high quality tattoos made to last for the rest of a person’s life. We are confident about our level of care and technique. We work with every type of body, every shade of melanin and folks with special needs or disabilities. We believe every type of body deserves to feel beautiful and comfortable in a tattoo shop.

The shop minimum is $100, a deposit is required to secure an appointment with that money going towards the cost of the tattoo. All individual artists will set their own rates for larger projects so hourly prices may vary. Flash tattoos (predawn designs for potential customers to pick from) are usually priced flat by the piece depending on size and detail. For larger projects that require multiple sittings the deposit will be held until the last appointment. There will be merchandise for sale on location, gift certificates and various forms of art and media.

In addition to being a place to get tattooed, Mortal Emblem is also a brand, a link to the culture, history and lifestyle of tattooing. Other media creations through Mortal Emblem include the Mortal Emblem photo book in collaboration with JD White, the Tattertainment video project series, digital illustrations and fine art. Puzzles, Nalgene bottles, dish cloths and apparel are some of the merchandise that will be available to sell in the retail section, and we look forward to expanding our offerings with a Lloyd Center vibe for new designs.
